FROM A MOTHER'S HEART - SVMG COMPILATION PROJECT

Just in time for Mother’s Day this musical tribute features mostly original compositions written by the artists who perform them and each one is dedicated to their own mother.   With a roster of artists that includes jazz icon Sheila Jordan along with Don Braden, Anne Belmont. Brasil Brazil (Ana Gazzola and Sonia Santos)  ,Peggy Duquesnel, Rick Helzer, Ellen Johnson, Mala Waldron,  Barbara Sfraga,  Judi Silvano, John Stowell, Christopher Dean Sullivan, Michael T.A. Thompson and other featured musicians.

In our desire to keep this project kind to mother earth we are offering this CD as a download through Sound Visions Media and we are giving a percentage of our profits to an outstanding organization MomsRising.org, to assist them in bringing important motherhood and family issues to the forefront of the country's awareness.  Visit their website www.momsrising.org for more information.

Included in the full CD download is a pdf about the project, artists, artists dedication to their mother, and a download where you can print out the CD cover to give as a gift to your mother. The songs on this compilation are individual in their message, some using lyrics others capturing the essence of their mothers through pure musical tones.    From the joyous instrumental composition, “Ellie” to the intimate story of ancient ancestors in dedication to the earth with a poem “For My Chacoan Ancestors” the CD begins and ends with a deep understanding of the sprit of each mother’s heart.   Intimate ballads with tender lyrics as in “Song For My Mother”, “With Every Kiss”, and “You Know Me By Heart” intertwined with the humor of a mother’s daughter “Dat Dere” amidst the orchestrated and full arrangements of deep messages in “Children’s Playgrounds”, Bougainvillea”, I Do Remember You, and another instrumental message in ‘Song For Mother (She Is Made Of Love). We even included our distant friends with a journey to the shores of Brazil and the beautiful Portuguese lyrics about the goddess of the sea.

We hope these songs will be shared with your own mother or perhaps it will help in some way to heal your heart with your mother.   Our wish is that you will find greater compassion and respect for what our native people knew all along, to honor the female spirit in everyone.

This past summer, Daryl Kojak and Laurie Krauz, who have co-written a number of songs the past couple of years, discussed the possibility of adding a song for the holidays to their stable. Daryl offered up the gorgeous melody that Laurie feels caused her to write the lyric for "A Christmas Gift for You," an instant classic that explores the bittersweet complexities of this time of year for some, while promising the redemption that a caring friend can provide.

When a friend heard "A Christmas Gift for You" for the first time she thanked them for writing something that expressed a sentiment she felt no other song had ever addressed -- and one that she was sure that others would embrace as well.

This original song is a gift from Daryl and Laurie to a special friend, and to all of those who think they are forgotten this time of year. It is a reminder of what a great gift the love of a friend can bring -- just by being there to walk us to the next wonderful moments of our lives.
